Gerald Lee "Jerry" Kluber

Gerald Lee "Jerry" Kluber, age 66 passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2010. He was born on December 8, 1943 in Houston, Texas to William and Dixie Kluber. In 1963 Jerry graduated from Levelland High School where he excelled in football, basketball and track. Jerry is a 1968 graduate of Texas Tech University. He served in the United States Army as an Artillery Commander in Korea. Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dallas. During 1971 Jerry started his 27 years career as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service. He protected Presidents from Richard Nixon through Bill Clinton, including George W. Bush as a son of the President. In 1974 he was assigned to the Presidential Protective Division to protect President Gerald Ford. Jerry was actively involved in protecting President Ford during two assassination attempts. Jerry is survived by his loving wife and long time caregiver, Theresa Williams Kluber of Frisco, Texas; mother, Dixie Kluber of Owensboro, Kentucky and his son, John Kluber of Austin, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father William "Bill" Kluber. A Celebration Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75034.
