Geraine Jones, age 83, of Fairview, Texas, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away on November 5, 2016. She was born January 20, 1933 in Taylor, Texas to Curtis A. and Viola (Cole) Honeycutt. On November 19, 1955, Geraine married John J. Jones, III in Georgetown, Texas. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology; and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Geraine worked in the healthcare profession for Dr. Stagger, Pediatric Ophthalmology, in Dallas, where she retired after twenty seven years. She was President of the Texas A&M Mother’s Club 1977 in Dallas, Texas. Geraine was a member of Royal Haven Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Jones, III of Fairview, Texas; son, John Curtis Jones and wife Debbie of Grapevine, Texas; granddaughter, Whitney Nelson and husband Brian of Midlothian, Texas; great-grandchildren, Zane and Addison Nelson of Midlothian, Texas; cousin, Karen Cole of Georgetown, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Geraine is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis A. and Viola Honeycutt; sister, Madha Dean Smith.
The family will receive friends during remembrance gathering on Friday evening, November 11, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. There will be an inurnment at Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor, Texas, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016.
