George Albert Hayes

George Albert Hayes of McKinney, Texas passed away on September 23, 2020, at the age of 83. He was born September 7, 1937, to Ortho and Luretha (Avery) Hayes in Canton, Mississippi. George was the youngest of eight children. He attended high school in Canton, Mississippi. During George's early years, he moved to Chicago, Illinois to start his career in manufacturing. He worked for several companies before dedicating over 30 years at Ford Motor Company. George met the love of his life, Sybil Hinds in Chicago, Illinois. They married on December 24, 1967, at the Church of the Good Shepard, and they were blessed with four beautiful children. After his retirement, George and Sybil relocated to McKinney, Texas to be closer to family. George touched so many lives throughout his life. His kindness and loving spirit were always felt by others. Whether it was through words of encouragement, a hug, a story, or lending a helping hand, he knew how to brighten your day with a smile. He was very dedicated to his family and friends and will be truly missed.

George is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sybil Hayes of McKinney, Texas; son, Stephon Hayes, and wife, Monica of Roswell, Georgia, daughter, Linda Ingram, and husband, Randy of Oswego, Illinois. He also leaves to cherish his memory grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, son, Roderick Adam Hayes, and daughter Vonda Marcel Farmer.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

In support of our local, state, and federal government including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only 100 guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on George’s obituary page.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor George and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
