George Ray Belcher

December 18, 1939 - July 24, 2021

George Ray Belcher of McKinney, Texas passed away on July 24, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born on December 18, 1939 to Ray and Launa (Gee) Belcher in Pilot Point, Texas.  George graduated from Sanger High School in 1958 and  went on to  graduate from North Texas State University.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  George married Betty Nell Pate on August 4, 1961.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Belcher of McKinney, Texas; sisters, Doris Davis, Elizabeth Belcher, and Snowflake Hurst; his beloved dog, Macy; and numerous nephews and nieces.

George was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl Belcher, Glen Belcher, and Jim Belcher; and sisters, Corine Maxwell and Dorothy Masten.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at First McKinney Church in McKinney, Texas.  Interment will follow at Sanger Cemetery in Sanger, Texas.
