George “Wes” Wesley Brown Jr., aged 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, September 17, 2026. He was born August 12, 1967, in Houston, TX, to Geroge Wesley and Donna June (Black) Brown.
He married the love of his life, Amy Lynette (Assiter) Brown, March 14, 1992, in Lubbock, TX, and from this union came two wonderful children, Spencer and George “Trey” III.
George attended Texas Tech, where he pledged OX and met his future wife, Amy. While at Tech, he joined the Marine Corps and fought in Desert Storm, assisting in the liberation of Kuwait. Upon returning home, George began a lifelong career as a history teacher and coach—a position he loved dearly—until his retirement in 2026. George was also a member of the all-Marine motorcycle club “Devil Dogs” and served as its president for a time.
He was a devoted Husband to his loving Wife Amy, loving Father to his cherished Children Spencer and George “Trey” III, and proud Grandfather to precious George “IVan” IV.
George is survived by his Children, Spencer Brown of The Colony, TX, George “Trey” Brown III and Wife Alexis of Plano, TX; and Grandson George “IVan” Brown IV of Plano, TX.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Amy Lynette (Assiter) Brown, and his parents, Geroge Wesley and Donna June (Black) Brown.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 9:30 AM, for both Geroge and his Wife Amy, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX, 75211. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Oct 18, 2026 at Lake Dallas VFW (Lewisville), 501 Thompson Dr, Lake Dallas, TX, 75065. Time To Be Determined.
