IN LOVING MEMORY

George Preston Ford

Jun 26 1946 - Jun 11 2023

George Preston Ford, 76, of Plano, Texas, passed away, Sunday, June 11, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Born June 26, 1946, in Traverse City, Michigan, the son of Late George and Helen Ford. He was the second oldest of six siblings. Over his lifetime he resided in many locations, however, came to call Plano, Texas home in 1972.

As a young man, he served as a Paratrooper in the US Army. After a few years in the service, he began working for Terrell Plumbing before starting his own successful company, Ford Plumbing, that he ran until he retired. He held a Master Plumber’s License for the entire length of time that he had his own business, training and mentoring many under him throughout the years.

George was known for his humorous antics, acts of kindness, rather it be changing out a faucet or giving someone a ride to work. He loved spending time at the Café or going on his daily walks with his favorite neighbor, Corinne. Making memories with his granddaughters truly brought him joy. No doubt was he an amazing man.

George is remembered with love by his family, George Colby Ford and his wife, Amber of Fulshear, Texas, and Callie Ford of Anna, Texas, Kameron Knight, of Dallas, Texas, and Kaitlin Murphy and husband, Casey of Princeton, Texas; beloved granddaughters, Elodie, Adaleigh, Lucy, and Georgia; brother and sisters, Herby Ford, Linda Besson, Debbie Jordan and Joyce Pizani; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends that were more like family.

He is preceded in death by his partner, Donna Starnes; parents, George and Helen Ford; sister, Patsy Ford.

A Celebration of Life will be held on what would have been his 77th birthday, at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 26, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N, Allen, Texas 75013. We will be having lunch and cake following the memorial at one of Dad’s favorite places, Poor Richards Café, 2442 K Ave, Plano, Texas 75074.

To support the continued fight for a cure of the illness that Dad was plagued with, we would love that in lieu of flowers, donations are made on his behalf to Be the Match.org or Cancer Research Institute.
