George Doyle Key was born to W. B. Key and Alva Lillian Gentry Key on July 22, 1941 at Whitewright, Texas. He passed away on August 7, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas at the age of 77 years.
George was a graduate of Whitewright High School. After high school he attended East Texas State University. George moved to Dallas where he went into the Lithography business. He worked for a few different companies over the years. He then opened Key Lithography in Dallas retiring in the mid 1990s. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
George was a cowboy and a long time shooting enthusiast. He was active in Old West re-enactments all over the country. He also played a part in the movie Blood on the Brazos.
George is survived by his sons, Murray Key of Van Alstyne and Stephen Key of Frisco; grandchildren, Mason and Madison; and his sister, Seletia Childers and husband Jimmy of Whitewright; niece, Misty Slaughter and nephew Michael Childers. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will be holding a private family gathering at a later date to celebrate George’s life.
