Geoffrey Andre Ruhnke, age 41, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022. He was born in Fairfax, Virginia, on September 13, 1980, to Margaret Anne and Christopher Herbert Ruhnke with severe hydrocephalus due to Spina Bifida. Because of ongoing health issues, Geoff was a sweet soul trapped in a troubled body. He was content with quiet times and simple things and was loyally devoted to a few favorite toys. His favorite person in all the world was his mother. Their bond was innate and they were able to communicate in unconventional ways. She died in January 2017 but that communication surely continued.
The rest of could always reach that special soul by playing “So Big” which never failed to get a twinkle, grin and giggle from Geoff. Even though he was a gentle soul, Geoff wasn’t shy about letting you know if he was unhappy or heard something he didn’t like, especially via his frowning-face-with-hands-on ears. His soul is now free to experience everlasting life with his mother in God’s divine kingdom. His father, Chris, and the rest of us who loved him will forever remember that twinkle and giggle which was “So Big”.
Geoff is survived by his father, Chris Ruhnke; his aunt, Janice Howard; and his uncle, Jim Ruhnke.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Ruhnke.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas, on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation 30 minutes prior, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment is at Forest Park Cemetery West in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
