Gene Louallen

Gene Everett Louallen passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 89.

Gene was born on March 12, 1936, in Paron, Arkansas, to Jada Louallen and Liza Myrtle Rickard. From his earliest years, Gene embodied the values of hard work, humility, and kindness that would define his life.

Gene graduated valedictorian of Bauxite High School in 1954 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State Teachers College (now University of Central Arkansas) in 1958. He also served in the Air National Guard.

On August 6, 1954, Gene married Mary Davenport Louallen in Benton, Arkansas. They had two children together. 

On June 29, 1978, Gene married Vera Lynn Hilliard in Plano, Texas. She had two children whom he loved as his own.

He retired from Texas Instruments after 37 years of service and following that retired from Fujitsu after 15 years of service.

Gene was an avid bowler, he enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time at the lake. 

Gene will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his quiet strength, and the deep love he held for his family. He approached life with a strong work ethic and a generous heart. His legacy is one of integrity, resilience, and devotion.

He is survived by his son, Greg Louallen and spouse, Margie of Mission, Texas; daughter, Marcia Mueller of Richardson, Texas; daughter, Penny Palmer and spouse, Tad of Fischer, Texas; daughter, Kiki Vann and fiancé, Brandon of Surprise, Arizona; grandchild, Keith Meuller and spouse, Samantha of Blue Ridge, Texas; grandchild, Robert Runnels and spouse, Gina Marie of Houston, Texas; grandchild, Misty Fenner and spouse, Kyle of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchild, Ryan Runnels and spouse, Jesus of Taylor, Texas; grandchild, Logan Huggins and spouse, Kaleb; grandchild, Sydni Brewer and spouse, Jonathan of Surprise, Arizona; grandchild, Seth Palmer of Wylie, Texas; grandchild, Max Palmer of Coronado, California; grandchild, Hannah Louallen and fiancé, Marko of Mission, Texas; grandchild, Sarah Louallen of Mission, Texas; Mary Louallen, mother of his children of Dallas, Texas; many great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Louallen; nine sisters, and one brother. 

A special thanks to the staff/family at Brookdale Collin Oaks Memory Care Assisted Living Facility and the Centric Hospice team for their loving care of our dad.

Gene’s favorite charity was The Salvation Army if you choose to make a donation in lieu of flowers.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service. Following the committal service, there will be desserts and beverages in the reception room for fellowship starting at 3:30 p.m.
