Gayle Scolaro passed from this life Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Gayle was born February 6, 1937, in Haverhill, Iowa, to Clara (Brady) and Arthur Goodman, the fourth of five children. For 56 years, Gayle was the devoted and loving wife of Joseph F. Scolaro, who preceded her in death. She was the devoted and loving mother of Philip Alan (Margaret), Lubbock, Texas; Vincent David, McKinney, Texas; Gregory Frederick (Kathy), Richardson, Texas; Joseph James (Susan), Fairview, Texas; and Teresa Marie Tester (Matthew), Knoxville, Tennessee.

Also left to celebrate Gayle’s life are brother David Goodman, St. Louis, Missouri, 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and her many friends.

Gayle had a great design sense including floral creations, jewelry crafting and fashion including years at Dillard’s department store. Gayle enjoyed traveling with Joe in later years and cherished all time spent with family.

In addition to her mother and father and husband Joe, Gayle was preceded in death by brothers Richard and John, sister Mary Cole, daughter-in-law Susan Jane and infant children Stephen, Christopher and Julie.

Family wishes to thank the caring staff of Christian Care Senior Living, Allen, Texas, who adored Gayle and the Visiting Angels caregivers who were so fond of her.

A memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 North Greenville Ave., Allen, Texas 75002. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln., Dallas, Texas 75220, for a committal service.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening, October 21, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Memorials may be made in Gayle’s name to St. Gabriel (McKinney, Texas) or St. Jude (Allen, Texas) Catholic communities.
