Gayle Estelle Deel passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in Plano, Texas at the age of 80. She was born on May 15, 1943 in Santee, California to parents Porter Aaron Branscome and Nedra Estelle (Parish) Branscome.
She married Kennith Deel on September 1, 1961 in Blue Ridge, Texas. Together they shared 62 years of marriage and had two children, Kenny and Gayla.
Gayle had numerous jobs throughout life and finished her working career by owning and operating Downtown Grocery and Deli on the square in Leonard with her husband Kennith. In retirement she enjoyed traveling with trips to California, Alaska, Beavers Bend and cruising to multiple locations. But most of all she enjoyed visits from her Grandchildren who all compassionately called her Deese!!!
Gayle will be remembered by her husband, Kennith Deel of Leonard, Texas; son, Kenny Deel and his wife, Lauren, of Pike, Texas; daughter, Gayla Mashburn and her husband, Chris, of Wolfe City, Texas; grandchildren; Katie Jones and her husband, Josh, Colton Deel and his wife, Chelsea, Jared Roberge, Lara Roberge, Taylor Morphis and her husband, Isaiah, Maddie Mashburn, and Carson Mashburn; great grandchildren, Oliver, Jaxson, Tucker, Ian and Sophie; her siblings, Randy Branscome and his wife, Jan, and Danny Branscome and his wife, Mary; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Nedra Branscome, and siblings, Jean Smith and June Evans.
Pallbearers for the service are Colton Deel, Jared Roberge, Josh Jones, Carson Mashburn, Jaxson Vicknair, and Aaron Branscome.
A visitation will be held for Gayle at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home in Leonard, Texas on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 10:00am to 11:00am. The funeral will start at 11:00am with Bro. Duke Sparks officiating. Following the services there will be a procession to East Shady Grove Cemetery.
