Gary William Vaughn, Sr. passed away on December 24, 2023, in McKinney, Texas at the age of 67. He was born on July 2, 1956, and adopted by his parents, Grady Henry, Jr. and Dorothy (Gorman) Vaughn of Dallas, Texas.
Gary attended Culver Military Academy and Missouri Military Academy, graduating in the Class of 1974. He began his career as an automotive mechanic, then as a bank teller at North Dallas Bank and Trust, helping the community by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, and issuing withdrawals for several years. Following his departure, Gary became the CEO of GrayRock Corporation until his passing.
Gary was a sweet hearted man, a people pleaser, and loved his family. He was a member of the Hummer Off Road Club, the Civilian Aircraft Club, and enjoyed off-roading, flying drones, airplanes, and helicopters, and traveling.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Dorothy Vaughn; former wife, Mary (Loren) Vaughn; son, Jason M. Vaughn; aunt, Mary Jo Vaughn Rauscher; and uncle, Jack Calvin Vaughn.
He is survived by his son, Gary Vaughn Jr., and his wife, Stacy of Maryville, Tennessee; son, Steven Vaughn of Princeton, Texas; daughter, Krystal Vaughn of Melissa, Texas; ten grandchildren; brothers, Grady H. Vaughn III, and Guy Beaird; and cousins, Jack C. Vaughn, Jr., Robert C. Vaughn, Sharon Vaughn Gallivan, and David C. Vaughn, their spouses, children and grandchildren of Dallas, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
