IN LOVING MEMORY

Gary Wesley Clark

Jun 29 1960 - Sep 22 2023

Gary Wesley Clark was called to the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 22, 2023, following a valiant battle with cancer. He was a beloved and cherished husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, father-in-law, and devoted friend to many.

Gary was born June 29, 1960, in Amarillo, Texas, to Wes and Evelyn Clark. He graduated from Amarillo High School and went on to graduate from the University of North Texas. His impact on the lives of people was immeasurable in his successful sales career that began with Texas Instruments, followed by corporate aircraft sales at Raytheon/Beechcraft, and for the last 30 years with Cenergistic (formerly Energy Education).

In 1980, Gary married his best friend, Teri Brown, and together, they built a home founded on the rock of Christ for their children Lauren, Preston, Lucas, and Lydia. Earlier this year, they welcomed Preston’s wife, Shelbey, into their family. He is also survived by his loving sister, Brenda Holmes and her husband, Don, nephew Bryan Bailey and his wife, Jenni, niece Alicia Strange and her husband, Ted, and two great nephews and a great niece. He is also loved and remembered by Teri’s siblings, nieces, and nephews.

While Gary loved spending time with family and friends, he found tremendous joy in flying. From an early age, Gary was a seasoned and meticulous pilot, whether he was flying friends and family for fun or piloting his plane on business. He was also an accomplished musician, using his talents for worship services in churches as well on the numerous international mission trips he took over the years. Whether it was worship music he grew up on, or contemporary songs, praising God through music filled his heart.

All who knew Gary will remember him for his commitment to Christ, his humor, the warmth of his personality, and his devotion to his family and friends. He is already missed, but as he reminded many people during his illness, “We are only passing through, and you’re right behind me.”

Gary, thanks for being our friend.

In following Gary’s heart and the family’s wishes, they invite you to give to someone who needs a financial blessing.
