IN LOVING MEMORY

Gary Robert Goodfellow

Oct 06 1956 - Dec 02 2016

Gary Robert Goodfellow, age 60, of Plano, Texas, entered into Heavenly Father's loving care on December 2, 2016.  He was born October 6, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to Robert William and Joanne Sloan Goodfellow.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Robert William Goodfellow.  He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Leslie Goodfellow of Plano, Texas and his three daughters Mandy Goodfellow, Ali Goodfellow, and Kelsey Goodfellow. He is also survived by his mother, Joanne Goodfellow of Dallas, Texas, his sister, Gayle Johns and husband Richard of Bountiful, Utah, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Gary was proud to be a fourth generation Texan. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a two-year mission in Seattle, Washington. He served faithfully in numerous church callings throughout his life including the Young Men's organization, and as a Sunday school teacher and ward clerk. As a youth, he earned his Eagle Scout award and enjoyed playing in local baseball and basketball leagues.

He graduated with a Bachelor in Science majoring in marketing and accounting from Brigham Young University. Upon graduation, he began working at Rauscher Pierce Refsnes. Shortly after, he joined his mother Joanne in the owning and operating of Goodfellow Fine Furniture for over 30 years.

Gary loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them vacationing in Hawaii, supporting them through their various extracurricular activities, and spoiling his three precious daughters during his favorite time of year, Christmas.  Each year, he spent many hours during the months of November and December decorating his house with lights and the manger scene for his whole neighborhood to enjoy.  He was generous and giving of both his time and resources in helping friends and those who may have needed a helping hand.

A funeral service will be held in his honor on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:15 p.m. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.

In Gary's honor, those who wish to make a donation may do so by giving to his "Princess Ali's" beloved My Possibilities or Children's Health.
