Gary Paul Jones

Gary Paul Jones, 79.9, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in Allen Texas.   He was born on October 4, 1939 to his parents, Rees and Rose Jones of Dallas Texas. Gary graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961.  After working for the family, Gary began his career at JCPenney where he worked for more than 30 years as Senior Systems Engineer.  He retired in 2000 and moved to Longview, Texas where he took up golf, cooking, traveling, wine exploration and spending time with his grandkids.

Not only was Gary a great father, brother, uncle, cousin and Paw Paw, he was a great friend and neighbor to many! Gary truly touched many people on his 80 year journey. He had the incredible gift of building very special and unique relationships with so many. Gary’s quick wit and silly one liners will be deeply missed and many will live on for generations.  He was truly one of a kind and we will treasure all the memories. 

Gary is survived by his four children; Julie Callaway and her husband, Thomas of Tyler Texas, Amy Jones of Allen Texas, Kristy Robinson and her husband, Danny of Crowley, Texas and Michael Jones of Niagara Falls, New York; loving grandchildren, Clint Kalinec and his wife, Shelbi of Saginaw, Texas, Brand Grice of Crowley Texas, Brittany Grice of Austin, Texas, Michael and Kristy Jones of New York; sister, Jackie Webb; step-brother, Herman Mullins and his wife, Bobbie of Whitewright, Texas; step-sister, Martha Woods of McKinney Texas; over 20 nieces and nephews and so many great cousins.  

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Jerry Jones, Joe Jones and his wife, Jean and Butch Frazier.  

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday October 10, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen Texas 75013. An inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.  The family will receive friends during a remembrance gathering on Wednesday evening, October 9, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
