Gary Lee Lorance passed away on August 29, 2024, at the age of 75 in Farmersville, Texas. He was born to Edgar Lee Roy Lorance and Dorothy Venita (Henager) Lorance on October 10, 1948, in Culleoka, Texas. Gary was known for his larger-than-life personality and the ability to light up any room with his vibrant presence and bright blue eyes. He never met a stranger.

He was a Master Plumber by trade for over 51 years, owning his own business, Lorance Plumbing.

A true jokester at heart, Gary cherished his time with his brothers, the Tickey Creek Gang. He was an avid participant in coed softball. His hobbies also included gardening and spoiling his dog, Abby. An enthusiastic sports fan, he loved watching the Cowboys and Rangers. Above all, Gary deeply loved his grandchildren, who were the center of his universe.

He was an active member of the First Pentecostal Church of Van Alstyne, until his stroke in 2015. He had a positive attitude and continued to smile through daily struggles. In his quiet time, you’d find him watching his favorite western, The Rifleman.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Shawna Tucker - husband Felix, Mindy Norman - husband Robert; sons, Coy Lorance, Gary Lee Lorance Jr.- wife Linda, and Doug Rogers - wife Cindy; brothers, Roy Gale Lorance - wife Jeanne, twin brother, Larry Lorance - wife Laura, and David Lorance - wife Kim. His legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind family friends Brenda Stuart, Brenda Lorance, and Ricky Marsh.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, Shirley Lorance; parents, Edgar and Dorothy Lorance; sister, June Gibson; and brothers, Joe Dale Lorance Sr. and Chuck Lorance, and 2 nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
