Gary Dean Williams

Gary Dean Williams, 71, of Prosper, Texas, formerly of Muskogee, Oklahoma/Hugo, Oklahoma, was called home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2019, after having battled multiple cancers over the last eleven years associated to Agent Orange exposure during his service in Vietnam.  Gary was born on Oct. 3, 1947, in Delano, California, to Arley and Ruby Thomas Williams.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Arley and Ruby; sister Cledas Allene Williams and brother Arley Junior Williams.  Gary was a Vietnam War veteran serving in intelligence with the Marine Corps.  After serving in active duty, Gary had a special place in his heart for veterans and dedicated his life to serving them.  He began his career with the Veterans Administration in Muskogee, Oklahoma, in 1972 and retired as the Director of the St. Louis Regional Office in 2004.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth; three daughters, Erin of Prosper, Texas, Julie of Burleson, Texas, and Bethany of Double Oak, Texas; brother and sister-in-law Donald Ray and Jeannine Williams of Melissa, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Deborah and Mike Gross of Camas, Washington; sister Dixie Williams of Tyler, Texas; and sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Glenn Cotton of Glendale, California.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow, 8520 Main St., Frisco, Texas.  Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019, at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
