Garvin Ray Shinpaugh, age 85, of Celina, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. He was born December 13, 1936, in Celina, Texas, to G.B. Lee (Perry) and Davis Shinpaugh. Garvin worked for 43 years as a highly skilled mechanic at McIlroy Chevrolet. He married the love of his life, Margie Fay Briggs, in Point, Texas, on January 1, 1960, and they were blessed with three children. Garvin was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
Garvin is survived by his beloved wife, Margie Shinpaugh; his children, Dennis Ray Shinpaugh and his wife, Anna, Janet Sue Valentine and her husband, Donn, and David Wayne Shinpaugh; his grandchildren, Rhian (Juan) Valentine, Tarah (Jacob) Kudlacek, Courtney Shinpaugh, Katie Shinpaugh, Scotty Valentine, Taylor Shinpaugh, and Donn Valentine; his great-grandchildren, Wyatt Shinpaugh, Thea Rae Kudlacek, and London Valentine; his sister, Aline Caraway; as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, G.B. Lee and Davis Shinpaugh; his brothers, Weldon D. Shinpaugh, Coylee Shinpaugh, and Roy Wayne Shinpaugh; and his sister, Melba Beaty.
A visitation will be at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 109 S. Oklahoma, Celina, Texas, on Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service is here beginning at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jack May. Interment follows at Cottage Hill Cemetery.
