Garrett Edward Miller passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was 19 years old.
Garrett was born in Dallas, Texas on May 11, 2001. His big brown eyes, genuine smile and gentle nature endeared him to everyone who knew him.
He loved his family wholeheartedly and was generous with his big, warm hugs. Garrett was a good friend, and he loved animals, especially his pets. He happily spent hours in nature, exploring mountains, rivers and hiking trails during family vacations.
Garrett graduated from Allen High School in 2019 and attended Collin College. An avid sports fan, he played baseball with teams in the Allen Sports Association and Plano Sports Authority from elementary school through 10th grade and football at Ford Middle School and Lowery Freshman Center. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen.
Garrett is survived by his parents, David and Jennifer Miller, his sister, Gina Maria, his grandmother, Margaret Ullmann, his aunt and uncle, Mary and Chuck Japhet, and his cousins, Kapp and Alison Japhet. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Barbara Miller and Edward G. Ullmann.
A rosary for Garrett will be said Monday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 North Greenville Avenue in Allen, followed by a visitation. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 12 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, followed by a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, Garrett’s family asks that donations be made in his name to SPCA of Texas.
