Garland Lee Roy Carroll, a resident of Crossroads, Texas, passed away on March 17, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on December 9, 1942, to George "Bill" Carroll and Dora (Pope) Carroll in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
Lee served his country with unwavering pride in the United States Army, embodying courage and commitment throughout his service. He exchanged vows with Glenn Parchman on June 3, 1967, in McKinney, Texas. Together, they lived a full life with children and grandchildren whom they love more than anything. This year will mark 57 years of marriage, and at this point, they could almost read each other's minds. Lee contributed to his community by working as a Custodial Supervisor in Frisco ISD. He enjoyed getting to know the students and teachers and talked about them decades after retiring. In retirement, Lee spent his days doing what he loved: fishing and spending time in the garage. Another sure place you could find him was at one of the ponds in the neighborhood. Lee is commonly said to have never known a stranger and was often waving at every passerby.
Lee’s kindness, warmth, and commitment to family and friends will be remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Glenn Carroll of Crossroads, Texas; son, Deon Lee Carroll and wife, Jennifer of Allen, Texas; son-in-law, Alec Scroggins of Crossroads, Texas; grandsons, Jackson Scroggins of McKinney, Texas, Jacob Scroggins and wife, Hannah of Sheffield, Ohio, Lucas Scroggins of Crossroads, Texas, Cameron Carroll of Allen, Texas, and Cole Carroll, also of Allen, Texas; granddaughters, Alaina Scroggins of Crossroads, Texas and Christina Carroll of Allen, Texas; sisters, Trellis Lucas of Big Spring, Texas, Donetta Wyatt Leach and husband, Larry of Trenton, Texas; among other loving family members and friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his daughter, Desiree Scroggins; parents, Bill and Dora Carroll; and siblings, Robert Carroll, J.M. Carroll, Joe Carroll, and Billie Marie Culberson.
