Galo A. Palacios, age 92, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on March 29, 2021. Galo was born on June 5, 1928, in Quito, Ecuador, to Mercedes Muñoz. He was a man of many talents, the rare autodidact - an intellectual, an artist, a teacher and a musician who devoured reading and music (especially classical music) and never tired of learning. Though he was a man of few words, he was a true gentleman and had a wonderful sense of humor, never missing an opportunity to make people laugh and smile. Galo was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He lived, breathed and sacrificed for his family. He made a positive impact on everyone he crossed paths with – in Ecuador, New York City, and Dallas, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Fabiola Palacios, son Patrick X. Palacios and daughter-in-law Irma Palacios, daughter Adrienne R. Palacios, son Ivan A. Palacios and daughter-in-law Blanca Palacios as well as five (5) grandchildren: Briana Y. Palacios, Mia I. Palacios, Samuel I. Palacios, Patrick Aidan Palacios, and Sofia I. Palacios.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mercedes Muñoz, daughter Yvette Palacios, sisters Beatrice and Fausta, and his brother Alfredo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 W. Eldorado Pkwy., Frisco, Texas, 75033. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 W. Main St. Frisco, Texas, 75033 with a rosary from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, New York at a later date.
