IN LOVING MEMORY

Gail Andrews

Apr 19 1941 - Jul 10 2017

On July 10, 2017, Mrs. Gail Andrews, age 76, left her earthly home in McKinney, Texas to inherit her permanent home in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Gail was born April 19, 1941 in Anna, Texas to Bill and Geneva (Stevens) Barnes.  Gail married Garnett Andrews on July 20, 1957.  He preceded her in death on February 2, 2004.

Gail worked for BlueCross BlueShield of Texas for close to thirty years, rising to Director of Training and Development.  She retired in 1999.

Throughout Gail’s life, she has been a blessing to several churches, taking active roles in Vacation Bible School and an after-school program for children called Beach Club.  She taught Sunday school, worked in the church nursery and served on a short-term mission trip to Jamaica.  She found joy in being generous with her time, talents and resources.  At the time of her home-going, she was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church in Lucas.

Gail’s passion for God’s kingdom was passed on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, instilling Godly virtues and memorizing scripture.  She was a devoted prayer warrior, spending many hours in prayer for her family, church family and friends.

Whether we called Gail Mom, Grandma or GG, her passing will leave an empty place in our hearts that no one can fill.  But as we know, this is not a permanent good-bye!  It is simply a temporary- see you later- until we have the opportunity, through Jesus, to enjoy her company again for eternity.

She is survived by her children, Felecia Fairbanks of Farmersville, Cole Andrews of McKinney, Kim Rodenbaugh and husband Gary of Allen, Amy Walker and husband Jerry of Millsap; sister, Barbara Newell of Mesquite; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gail’s parents, Bill and Geneva Barnes and her brother, Don Barnes, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Forest Grove Christian Church, 2542 Country Club Road, Lucas, Texas 75002.  Interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends during a visitation being held at 11:00 a.m., at the church, prior to the service.
