THERE IS A SEASON FOR EVERYTHING

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Fredrick Carlton Lewis was born on January 28, 1966 to Samuel Carlton Lewis and Dorothy Green in Marshall, Texas. He passed away on May 31, 2021 at the age of 55.  He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Carlton Lewis and his sister, Cesare’ Horton.

Fred graduated from Taft High School in Southern California with the class of 1984 and then attended the Los Angeles Valley College. Fred loved life and met no strangers.

He met the love of his life Candace Michelle White and they married on May 23, 1998 in California. They relocated their family to Texas in November 2006. The family quickly became involved with the community when their children begin participating in various sports activities. Fred and Candy have been committed to the North Texas Jackrabbits (Track) for 12 years.

Fred loved playing basketball which led to the opportunity to play professionally overseas. He also loved football and played semi-pro in California.  Fred had many hobbies, (music, dancing and traveling) but above all, his greatest passion was his family who he cherished deeply. He was an advocate for and believed strongly in education and instilled the importance of an education in his children. He was blessed to see his oldest daughter, Karrington, graduate college with a BA from Abilene Christian University and she will return next year to receive her Master’s Degree, his son Kennedy entered into his junior year at University of San Antonio, and Kaylee, his youngest daughter graduated from Melissa high school.  She will attend the University of Oregon in September as a freshman.

Fred is survived by his wife, Candace of Melissa, Texas; daughters, Karrington Lewis-Bloomfield (Lee Andrew) of Abilene, Texas and Kaylee of Melissa, Texas; son, Kennedy Melissa, Texas; mother, Dorothy Lawrence of Los Angeles, California; brother, Charles Lawrence, III and wife, Jeni of Los Angeles, California; niece, Jade Kennedy; and his sisters, Mel and Patricia Lewis, of New York. He also leaves to cherish his memory many other family members, friends and the Melissa and Jackrabbit Community.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening, June 10, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Forever In Our Hearts

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus Our Lord and Savior.

Romans 8:38
