He was Managing Director of Events for the American Bicentennial Inaugural Committee (Bush 41). During Bush 41’s administration, Fred was appointed the Director of External Affairs on behalf of the Department of Commerce. It was during this time that Fred was regarded by the CIA and other Agencies as the resident expert on government relations with the Kuwaiti government. Fred was presented with a Kuwaiti Flag that had flown over the temporary US Embassy in Kuwait City for his service. In 2009 Fred was elected Mayor of Clifton Texas and re-elected in 2011.
