Frederick Phillip “Phil” Fay

Frederick Phillip “Phil” Fay of McKinney, Texas passed away August 23, 2022 at the age of 77.  He was born on April 25, 1945 to Frederick W. Fay and Betty Grace (Sutton) Fay in Greenville, North Carolina.  Phil was a graduate of Needham Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina.  He served his country proudly as a Sergeant in the United States Army and is a Vietnam Veteran.  Phil received his Business Administration Degree in Accounting from University of Texas in El Paso, Texas and his law degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  He had an accomplished career as a Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years.  Phil was a member of the Texas Society of CPA’s, Dallas Chapter of CPA’s along with the American Institute of CPA’s.  For 15 years he was sole proprietor of a successful CPA firm in Kermit, Texas.  Phil later worked for FDIC as a Criminal Investigator in Dallas, Texas, then transferred to their New Jersey office. He was later recruited and hired as a U.S. Director of Internal Audit for a Korean bank in Manhattan, NY, where he oversaw the auditing of their banks throughout the United States.  Before his illness he was an active member of First McKinney Baptist Church.  He married Marsha Colleen Vose on New Year’s Day 1997 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Phil was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend.  He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.

Phil is survived by his beloved wife, Marsha Fay of McKinney, Texas; daughter Renee Kraft and husband, Jason of Artesia, New Mexico; son Justin Fay and wife, Heather of Princeton, Texas and daughter, Danna Demma and husband, Keith of McKinney, Texas; brother-in-law, Art Willis of Raleigh, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren Charis (Spencer), Hope (Reid), Josiah (Chasee), Faith, Kaitlyne (Kolby), Krysten (Cameron), Cameron, Daniela, Andrew and Max; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Arlene Willis.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00  a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 1615 Louisiana, McKinney, Texas 75069.  Phil will be laid to rest during inurnment with military honors at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
