Frederick Jon Janning

Frederick Jon Janning, age 88, passed away February 4, 2025, in Allen, Texas.  He was born on November 12, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, to his loving parents Edward A. Janning and Margaret Marie (Brunner) Janning. 

Fred grew up in Cleveland and graduated from West Technical High School in 1955.  From 1955 – 1957, Fred proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  Following his military service, Fred then continued his studies at Cleveland State University, earning a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree in 1968.

Fred met the love of his life, Eloise Marie (Terri) Becka. On April 18, 1959, in Strongsville, Ohio, they celebrated their love and commitment to each other in marriage.  Raising their six children and watching their families grow brought Fred and Eloise many years of joy, fulfillment, and lasting memories across four generations.  

Fred is survived by his second wife, Jadwiga Nowak-Janning, of Poland; children, Laura Dindak (Phil), of Allen, Texas, Fred Janning (Laura), of Pendergrass, Georgia, Stephen Janning (Teressa), of Princeton, West Virginia, William Janning (Joni), of Allen, Texas, Terese Muguira (Joe), of Rockport, Texas, and Julie Leece (Matthew), of Fort Worth, Texas; twenty-two grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will fondly cherish his memory. 

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret Janning; first wife, Eloise Janning; and siblings, James Janning, Mary Margaret White, Rosemary Harbert, Edward Janning, and Delma Topeka.     

Interment will take place at a later date in Ohio.  

Fred’s legacy clearly lives on in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The bonds and memories he created will continue to shape the family for years to come.
