Frederick (Fred) Gene Fedri

Frederick (Fred) Gene Fedri, 77, of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 7, 2024, after a brief battle with renal cancer. He was born on March 2, 1947 to Eugene and Marie Fedri in Niagara Falls, New York. A gifted student, Fred graduated from Niagara Falls High School and went on to study mechanical engineering at the State University of New York at Buffalo.


After college, he met and married the love of his life, Pauline A. Taberski in Buffalo, New York and served in the National Guard where he graduated first in his class in helicopter maintenance, a point of pride for Fred. He later obtained his professional engineering license and worked for Occidental Chemical for over 45 years.


Fred and Pauline had three wonderful children, Karen, Jonathan, and Melanie. He was a compassionate and supportive father, loving husband, and admired and respected by many friends along the way.
After retiring, Fred spent his time completing projects with and for his children and grandchildren. Fred also wrote children’s books, traveled abroad, and participated in faith activities at St. Gabriel the Archangel.


Fred was preceded in death by his parents and his lifelong friend Joseph W. Carosella. He is survived by his wife; children and their spouses Alan, Stephenie, and Nikhil; grandchildren Beckett and Sionna; and brother, Ronald.


A mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2024 at St Gabriel the Archangel Church, 110 St Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 for a committal service.


The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine Jackson Morrow funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the North Texas Food Bank. https://ntfb.org/donate
