Freddie Ray Garner was born January 21, 1927 in Nobility, Texas to Fred Garner and Nevada Sprinkle Garner. He died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at his residence in Whitewright, at the age of 88. He was a resident of Whitewright, Texas.
Freddy Ray was a graduate of Whitewright High School in 1945. After graduating he served his nation in the U.S.Army at the end of World War II. After returning from the service he began his career with Texas Power and Light (TXU) working as a Lineman, Meter Reader and Collector. After retiring from TXU he worked for about 20 years for Earnheart Funeral Home in Whitewright. Freddy Ray was a lifelong skater and bowler. He travelled around the world on cruise ships and around the United States by bus. He was a lifelong member of the Whitewright Church of Christ.
He is survived by sister, Geraldine Albaugh of Cabot, Arkansas; nieces, Leslie Thomas and husband Dale of Whitewright, Donna Dockery and husband Frank of Trenton, and Maureen Mabe and husband John of Sherwood, Arkansas; nephew, Don Albaugh and wife Kim of Mercer Island, Washington; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Paula Collins and her husband Don; and brother-in-law, Don Albaugh.
Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM, Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Church of Christ, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Mr. Frazier Conley. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas. Pallbearers will be Frank Dockery, Dale Thomas, John Mabe, Eric Dockery, Kenneth Phillips, and Don Albaugh.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 2:00pm until service at 2:30pm at the Church of Christ, Whitewright, Texas.
