Freda Mae (Corker) DiNicola of Allen, Texas passed away on January 24, 2019 at the age of 82. She was born on March 13, 1936 to Colin and Mary (Bowley) Corker in Meadow Creek, West Virginia. Freda was truly a free spirit. She left her home after graduation to pursue a career in the airline industry. She lived in California, traveled the world and eventually settled in Alexandria, where she met and married Gilbert Russell (Russ) DiNicola, Sr. on December 11, 1957. She and Russ eventually moved to Ravensworth Farms where they raised their two children. Freda later joined Exhibit Aids and then Freeman where she served as a customer services representative at their larger shows. In their retirement years, Russ and Freda enjoyed travelling the US in their van, often spending weeks on the road exploring the country. They eventually relocated to Texas, then Arizona and then back to Texas. Freda lost her lifelong partner on April 1, 2010 and chose to remain in Texas near her children and grandchildren until her passing.
Freda is survived by her daughter, Diane Ewing and husband, David of Allen, Texas; son, Rusty DiNicola of Linden, Virginia; five grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Freda will always be remembered by those who knew her as the rock of the family. Through easy times and challenging times, Freda was always there to make sure that everything was taken care of and that her family was safe and secure.
While her family and friends will miss her dearly, they are strengthened in their loss by the knowledge that she and Russ are reunited once again.
A graveside inurnment is planned for a later date.
