Fred Nicklas Thierfelder

Fred Nicklas Thierfelder passed away on June 21, 2020 at the age of 84 in Garland, Texas. He was born to William Thierfelder and Lydia Leutung on November 28, 1935 in Sedalia, Missouri.

Fred married Robbie on September 27, 1958 in Garland, Texas. They had four children and were very loving parents, friends and neighbors. He loved all of his neighbors and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He regularly garden and shared the grown fruits and veggies with his friends, neighbors and donated a lot to church members. Fred was often seen riding his bicycle throughout the neighborhood. Cycling was another activity of many, which he enjoyed.

His children described him as tough, rough and stern. Fred was very protective and proud of his children and let the world know that. Nick joking described his father as “Jolly…Most of the time!” He was a collector of small trinkets and collections of others things, which became his treasures. He was an avid Fisher and Hunter. Throughout the days when he was declining in health, he always said to Robbie, “Love you Mama” and always repeated his kids' names on his fingers, “Nick, Sandra, Julie, Jill”.

Fred is survived by his wife, Robbie. Children; daughter, Jill Mayer and husband Bobby of Rowlett, Texas, son, Nick Thierfelder and wife Ruth of Royse City, Texas, daughters, Sandra McCord and husband Kenneth of Wylie, Texas, and Julie Offutt and husband Sean of Garland, Texas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and sister, Jean Ford.

 

A funeral service for Fred will be held at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 12:00PM. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dwayne Crane.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.

Following the service, a burial at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville, Texas.
