Franklin O’Dell was born on March 2, 1933 in Pilot Point, TX . He passed away Dec 8, 2011 in McKinney. He was 78 years old. Frank is survived by his wife of 55 years Pat. Daughters Joy Griffin and husband Bo from Prosper, Roxanne Standerfer and husband Johnny from Prosper, Jana Hill and husband John Henry from Prosper, Kandi Templin from Sedona, AZ, Amy Field from Prosper. Adopted son Roy Field from Ft. Worth. Grandsons Teague Griffin and wife Lindsay from Frisco, Cody Standerfer and Wife Jammi from Prosper, Tate Griffin from Prosper, Cain Standerfer from Prosper and Connor O’Brien from Prosper. Grand-daughters Corianne Standerfer from McKinney and Cierra O’Brien from Prosper. Great grandsons Hayden and Halston Standerfer from Prosper and a great granddaughter Adalyn Griffin from Frisco. A sister Dorothy Davis from Pilot Point along with many other “kids” he was PawPaw to. Preceded in death by his son Tim O’Dell, brothers JD O’Dell and Marvin O’Dell and his parents John and Annie Mae O’Dell. Frank served in the military and was a machinist for Murdock Engineering in Irving for 30 years. He also worked at Lockheed Martin. He loved golfing, fishing, all sports and telling stories to all. Most of all he loved his family and his grandkids. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor Craig Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Prosper, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home.
