Frank Lengyel

Frank Lengyel, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 16, 2018.  He was born February 20, 1923, in Hammond, Indiana, to Michael and Mary Lengyel.  Frank was a World War II Veteran, a graduate of Indiana University and he retired from Chrysler in 1981 after 27 years of service.  On October 2, 1951, he married the love of his life, Norma Lee Schmidt.  The two of them were proud parents of seven children, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren.  Frank enjoyed life to the fullest and was always amazed by the simple things in life.  He was a devout Catholic and lived his life for God.  He was devoted to his wife, Norma Lee, and was an amazing father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  His love for life, God and his country was endless and he will be missed by so many that he touched in his 95 years on Earth.  God received an angel on June 16, 2018, and he will be forever missed.

Frank is survived by his children, Pamela Strachan, Mary Knuff, Peggy (Dave) Siewert, Charlie (Tina) Lengyel, Jim (Nancy) Lengyel, Ann Marie (John) McArdle, daughter-in-law, Kathy Strachan; his grandchildren, Terry Strachan, Tisha Crow, Steven (Halie) Knuff, Melissa (Chad) Collins, Brian Delvo, Tim Delvo, Ashley Lengyel, Brittany Lengyel, Landon Lengyel, Kelli McArdle, Sean McArdle; and his great-grandchildren, Alan Richard, Rochelle, Daniel, Nicholas, Simon, Eden, Ruben, Lexie, Frances, Nathan, Henry, Samantha, Aiden, Katelynn, and Morrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael & Mary; his loving wife, Norma Lee; his son, Richard; his grandson, Brandon; his brothers, Michael Jr. and Wasil; and his sister, Mary.

A Visitation and Rosary reading will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Rosary reading beginning at 7:00 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., Father Rodolfo Garcia officiating.  Interment scheduled for this same day, Thursday, June 21st at 2:00 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery.
