Frank “Eddie” Englert passed away August 11, 2023 at the age of 73 in Allen, Texas. He was the youngest of three children born February 19, 1950 to Clarence Englert and Violet B. (Betts) Englert. Frank married Luz A. Chaparro March 20, 1971 in Crookston, Minnesota. Together they shared 52 years of love and memories.
He served in the United States Air Force for 9 years as a Telecommunications Control Specialist while stationed in England, Italy and NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado Springs. With this experience, he transitioned to his civilian career at Nortel and Allen ISD transportation until retirement. His past times were golf, bowling and the “Captain” of Papis’ Bus.
Frank is survived by his wife, Luz Englert of Allen, Texas; son, Patrick Englert and wife, Dolores of Allen, Texas; daughter, Laura Handy and husband, Brent of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Addison and Kayla of Nacogdoches, Texas, Christopher Lolo of Herndon, Virgina and Ryan Lolo of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren, Teddy and Evie of The Colony, Texas; sister, Louise Garton of Allen, Texas; mother-in-law, Laura Chaparro of Richardson, Texas; sister-in-law, Maria Robeson of Plano, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend, Lulu (his dancing queen)..
A memorial graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023 at DFW National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211.
