Deacon Frank Reyna

Deacon Frank Cipriano Cantu Reyna, age 90, formally of Frisco, Texas, passed away in Waco, Texas, on November 20, 2018.  He was born August 18, 1928, in Kingsville, Texas, to Silvestre and Aurora Reyna.  Deacon Frank married Elia Lopez of Falfurrias, Texas.

He served 20 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Technical Sargent.  After 23 years of working in Nuclear Medicine at Darnell Army Hospital, he retired from Civil Service in 1994 and moved to Frisco, Texas, where he served for 22 years as a Deacon at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and he retired in 2015.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Psychology from American Technological University/Texas A&M University Central Texas. 

He served on the Board of Frisco Family Services, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he achieved the level of Fourth Degree Knight.  He was an all-around athlete, excelling in football, baseball, bowling and golf.

Deacon Frank is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elia L. Reyna of  Waco; children, Sylvia Wiggins and husband, James, of Conroe, Johanna McCrary of Lubbock, Lucille Nowaski and husband, Leonard, of Waco, Elizabeth Bovard of Waco; daughter-in-law, Gloria Reyna of Abilene; grandchildren, Michelle Reyna, Frank Reyna II, Sean Wiggins, Eric Wiggins, Scott Wiggins, Giles McCrary III, Isaac McCrary, Robert Locke, Lauren Nowaski Meyer, Tyler Nowaski, Elia Alexandra Hamilton, Christiaan Bovard, Genevieve Bovard Twing, Benjamin Bovard; and 20 great grandchildren .

Deacon Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Silvestre and Aurora Reyna; his son, Mario Reyna; son-in-law, Thomas Bovard; grandson, John William Nowaski; one brother; and four sisters.

Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on November 28, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., recitation of the Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on November 29, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., with burial following at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
