IN LOVING MEMORY

Frances Caroline Bolin

Jul 04 1944 - Feb 08 2022

Frances Caroline Bolin (Franklin) was born in McKinney, Texas on the 4th of July 1944, the only child of  Sewell and Nancy Franklin. She passed peacefully on February 8th, 2022 after a prolonged hospital stay.

Fran had enjoyed good health most of her life and is survived by her three sons, and their families. Blake, Jennifer, Nicholas, Allison and Karlee Bolin of Frisco. Clay, Kelli, Will, Elizabeth and Sarah Bolin of McKinney. Andrew, Nina, Caroline, Carina, Bobby and Shepard Bolin of Lewisville. Preceded in death by her parents.

Fran graduated from McKinney High School in 1962. She studied speech therapy at Baylor University and graduated in 1966. Other than seven years in Waco and one year in Austin, Fran lived in the McKinney area her entire life. She loved having a birthday on a national holiday and had a party and fireworks every year no matter where she was. Spending time at the family ranch was always enjoyed, especially when the whole family could get together for her birthday.

Fran loved the water and swimming. She was well known as a swimming instructor and taught multiple generations of children in McKinney to swim.

Fran was lucky enough to have a long career as a grandmother, 26 years, Nan nah, Nana and Nani as she was known to her nine grandchildren. Above all else, Fran loved her grandchildren and was able to spend lots of time with each one. Teaching young children was a great joy for Fran.

Fran loved to travel and to make new friends. Her favorite place in the world was Hawaii and her second home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. She never met a stranger and was always eager for conversation. Always ready for a new adventure Fran had many hobbies over the years. She was an early advocate for regular physical exercise, jogging, swimming, aerobics and lately water aerobics. She tried her hand at painting, scuba diving, gardening, and volunteering.

Per Fran’s wishes no traditional funeral will be held. A casual come and go gathering is planned for Saturday, February 19th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Flower Mill at East McKinney, 407 E Louisiana St. McKinney, Texas. All friends are welcome to come visit with the family and share stories about Fran.
