Graveside Services for Frances Pauline Compton Woodruff, 89 year old former Trenton resident, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday June 2nd at the Burns Cemetery at Trenton, Texas. Charles E. Wrenn will officiate. Family visitation will be Monday June 1st from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard, Texas. Mrs. Woodruff was born November 17, 1919 at Celeste, Texas. Her parents were Christopher Columbus “Lum” and Belvia Ann “Belle” Mulkey Compton. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Leonard. She married Dempsey Varnard Woodruff December 24, 1947 at Celeste, Texas. She passed away Saturday May 30, 2009 at the Homestead of Denison. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Stan & Alice Woodruff of Tom Bean, Texas and Gary & Rachelle Woodruff of Leonard, Texas; her sister: Lenna Bell Barr of Celeste, Texas; her grandchildren: Chris Woodruff, Jeremy Woodruff, Cory Stark, Jerrod Woodruff & Brooke Woodruff Cherry; her great-grandchildren: Taylor, Madison & Christopher Woodruff, Isabel Woodruff and Kevin Beck Cherry. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter: Terry Sherwood and five brothers: Herman, Coy, Tillman, Norris & Earl Compton.
