Frances Lee Covington Airhart

Frances Lee Covington Airhart of Blue Ridge, Texas passed away May 17, 2019 at the age of 92.  She was born on August 3, 1926 to Robert Lee Covington and Jessie Mae (Lewis) Covington in Plano, Texas.  Frances married George “Jackie” Airhart on December 14, 1945 in McKinney, Texas.  She trained as a licensed vocation nurse, LVN at McKinney City Hospital. Frances had a dedicated 40 plus year career at Wysong Clinic in McKinney with pediatric nursing as her favorite. She enjoyed working with her husband on their family farm and most loved her grandchildren.  Frances was a longstanding member of Chambersville United Methodist Church in Chambersville, Texas.

Frances is survived by her son, Robert Wesley Airhart and wife, Sandra of Anna, Texas; daughter, Becky Sue Airhart-Smith and husband, Howard Seth  of Valdasta, Texas; son, Thomas “Mike” Michael Airhart and wife, Laurie of McKinney, Texas; grandsons, Morgan Dyer Airhart and fianceé, Melissa Norris of Blue Ridge, Texas and Caleb “Matt” Matthew Airhart of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; granddaughters, Jessica Diane Bailey and husband, Travis of Celina, Texas and Cortney René Hockett and husband, Jon of Blue Ridge, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Cooper Bailey, Cason Bailey, Axel Hockett and Tenley Hockett; brothers, Bobby Covington of Sachse, Texas, R.L. “Doodle” Covington and wife, Corma of Irving, Texas and Howard Joe Covington and wife, Beverly of McKinney, Texas; nieces, Sally Schwend of Emory, Texas, Terry Airhart of Blue Ridge, Texas, Pat Airhart of Copeville, Texas and Ann Glaze of Rockwall, Texas; and a host of other nieces and nephews whom she loved and treasured.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Airhart; sister, Wanda June Bowers and brother, James “Sonny” Covington.

The family would like to express their most heartfelt gratitude to those who brought Frances comfort and care at Compass Hospice of Dallas.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Chambersville United Methodist Church, 6869 County Road 206, Chambersville, Texas 75071.  Interment is to follow at Stoney Point Cemetery, Texas in Melissa, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Monday evening 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
