Frances Elizabeth (Kirby) King Ball, 81, formerly of Bluefield, WV, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at McKinney, TX. She was born August 6, 1923 at Shawver’s Mill, VA, the daughter of the late William Franklin and Eliza Frances (Repass) Kirby. She was a graduate of Tazewell High School and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Bluefield, WV. She worked many years at the Unique Cleaners as a seamstress and also sewed privately. She is survived by daughter, Peggy (King) Dunning and her husband, David, and their children, Alex and Erin, of Derby, KS; daughter, Dorothy (King) Finley and her husband, Ken Jr., and their children, Caitlin and Brian of Frisco, TX; brother Ernest Kirby and his wife, Ruth of Bluefield, VA; brother, Roy Kirby and his wife, Dorothy of Dalton, OH; sister-in-law, Margaret Kirby of Tazewell, VA; step-daughters, Louise Whitmire of Charlottesville, VA and Marge Helwig of AZ; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jean Elswick; husbands, Carl B. King and Bert E. Ball; brothers, Glenn and Albert Sidney Kirby; sister, Ruth (Kirby) Simmons Tabor and ex-husband, James Tipton Elswick. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Frisco at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 8, 2005. A memorial service will be held in Bluefield, WV at a later date, with interment at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Grace United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 1478, Bluefield, WV 24701. Arrangements were made through Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in McKinney.
