Foy Wallace Vinson, Sr.

Foy Wallace Vinson, Sr. longtime Plano, Texas resident, passed away on August 18, 2020 at the age of 88. He was born February 16, 1932 in Longview, Texas to Bryan Vinson, Sr. and Mary (Burns) Vinson. Foy graduated from W.H. Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas in 1949. He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1953. Foy married Patsy (Scott) Vinson July 16, 1953 in Sweetwater, Texas. He has been a preacher of the gospel since 1951 preaching in Sunray, Texas, Decatur, Texas, Elgin, Illinois and then relocated back to Texas in 1968 to preach at West Allen Church of Christ, Allen, Texas.

Foy is survived by his wife, Patsy Vinson; children, Foy W. “Wally” Vinson, Jr. and wife, Judy of Nashville, Tennessee, Julie Noble and husband, Larry of Longview, Texas, Scott Vinson and wife, Elizabeth of Corinth, Texas and Shirley Davis and husband, Ronnie of Pittsburg, Texas; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan Vinson, Sr. and Mary (Burns) Vinson and a brother, Bryan Vinson, Jr..

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Foy’s obituary page.

In support of our local, state, and federal government including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of 100 guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Foy and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
