Floyd Junior “Pop” Arrington of Gunter, Texas passed away on September 13, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born on February 21, 1933 to Floyd and Raye Allie (McMenimie) in Sherman, Texas. Floyd married his loving wife Mary Lois Cunningham on July 24, 1950 in Sherman, Texas. They have shared 67 years of marriage. He has three sons, Floyd Dale Arrington and wife, Mary of Gunter, Texas, Larry Arrington of Gunter, Texas and John Mark and wife, Sara of Tioga, Texas. He worked for Sherwin Williams Paints in Garland, Texas where he and Mary lived. Upon his retirement they moved to Gunter, Texas.
Junior has one brother, Billie Mack Arrington and wife, Dawn of Gunter, Texas. Bill loved his big brother and they have spent many hours reliving the cotton patch days with family.
Junior loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Michael Arrington of Gunter, Texas, Mark Arrington Jr. and, wife Samantha of McKinney, Texas, Randy Arrington and wife, Savannah of Quinlan, Texas, Haley Arrington of Seattle, Washington, Rebekah Arrington of Tioga, Texas, Hannah Arrington of Celina, Texas, Chance Arrington and wife, Ashley of Seattle Washington, and Briana Calhoun of Downsville, Louisiana.
Junior has numerous nieces and nephews that have enjoyed his teasing and enjoyed the time they spent with him.
Junior loved the Lord and never missed a chance to pray for anyone. God knew his child very well and we know he would say “Well done thou Good and Faithful Servant.” Junior has always been active in the Assembly of God Church wherever he lived. He loved his church friends.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Raye Allie Arrington and step-father, Henry Brinlee; three sisters, Viva Brinlee, Louise Cunningham and Isabel Cunningham; granddaughter, Jennifer Arrington; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Arrington.
He will be missed by all that knew him.
A funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 309 Pecan Street, Gunter, Texas 75058. Interment will follow at Gunter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Gunter, Texas.
