Flora Lee Berry of Allen, Texas, passed away on January 7, 2026 surrounded by her family, at the age of 63. She was born on April 28, 1962, in Falfurrias, Texas, to her loving parents, Chester Clay Compton, Sr. and Eloyse Althea York. Flora graduated from Alice High School in 1980. On December 25, 1991, she married the love of her life, Chris Berry, in a joyful Christmas Day ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Flora believed with all her heart that anything made with patience and hard work would turn into something beautiful. That belief shined through in everything she created; from her sewing and needlepoint to the countless handmade treasures she lovingly crafted. She poured that same dedication into her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother, always showing that the most beautiful things in life are the ones we nurture with our whole selves. She also shared a deep love and connection with all of her animals over the years. Especially with Flora’s devoted dog, Bella, who’s loyal companionship brought a smile to her face each and every day.
She is survived by her loving husband, Chris Berry of Allen, Texas; her daughter, Kelsey Searle and husband Robert of Sachse, Texas; her sons, Jacob Barnes of McKinney, Texas, and Blake Berry of Troutdale, Oregon; her sisters, Joyce Rotge of Alice, Texas, Janet Williams of College Station, Texas, Helen Buendel and husband Clarence of Huntsville, Texas, and Cheryl Marks; her brothers, Chester Compton, Jr. and wife Derinda of Corpus Christi, Texas, and John Compton and wife Carrie of Corpus Christi, Texas; She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Hayden, Ariah, Lilah, and Audrey; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George Compton and Felipe Arriaga; and her beloved grandson, Cameron Barnes, with whom she is now reunited.
A memorial service honoring Flora’s beautiful life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
