Fern E. Kempf of Rockwall, Texas passed away on February 1, 2021 at the age of 85. She was born on December 14, 1935 to C.L. and Lucille A. (Strackbein) Taylor in Rocksprings, Texas. The Taylor family were early Texas pioneers and historically contributed to the growth of the state. Fern married Richard A. Kempf on September 1, 1987. Fern was deeply affectionate, loving and thoughtful person. Tasks that she set for herself were executed with skill and independence which were displayed as the owner and manager for many years of an indoor foliage nursery in Apopka, Florida. She had also been manager of a printing store and executive secretary for several large companies.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Kempf; brothers, Curtis L. Taylor, Kent I. Taylor and Larry B. Taylor; son, Tommy L. Shuptrine and wife, Lee Ann Shuptrine; grandchildren, Michael W. Shuptrine and wife, Cindy and Audrey M. Shuptrine; great grandchildren, Aiden R. Shuptrine and Jackson L. Shuptrine; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Garden Pavilion at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North in Allen. In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, the following are Ridgeview Memorial Park guidelines. All are invited to attend the graveside service, maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of American, the Wounded Veterans Organization, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the ASPCA.
