Felix “Coco” M. Mungia of Robstown, Texas passed away August 31, 2022 at the age of 88. He was born on July 10, 1934 to Matias Mungia and Trinidad (Montoya) Mungia in Cost, Texas. Felix married the late Anita Garza on December 29, 1962 in Nixon, Texas and they enjoyed 45 years of marriage before her passing in 2008. He spent his career as a truck driver. Felix loved to perform; singing and playing the accordion was his greatest passion. He most loved to visit with family. Felix was a devoted member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Felix will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughters, Sulema Isabel Mungia of McKinney, Texas and Anna Mungia of Arlington, Texas; son, Francisco Mungia and wife, Beatrice of Killeen, Texas; five grandchildren; Ruben Zapata, Jr., Geena Zapata, Alex Mungia, Jacob Mungia, and Megan Mungia; great-grandchildren, Joaquin Mendoza and Ezra Mendoza; brother, Pedro Mungia; cousin, Teo Mungia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Felix was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Mungia; parents, Matias and Trinidad Mungia; brother, Adan Mungia; and sister, Magdalena Mungia.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 411 Paula Road, McKinney, Texas 75069. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North Allen, Texas 75013 for a committal service.
The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
