Farrell Ann (Overstreet) Whittington of Dallas, Texas passed away on December 29, 2016 at the age of 70. She was born on November 27, 1946 to William Carlton and Irma Ellen (Ward) Overstreet in Seminole, Texas. Farrell married Tommy “Larry” Whittington September 30, 1968 in Seminole, Texas. She was of the Christian faith.
Farrell was fiercely loyal to her family and loved them deeply. She lost her one and only love, Larry (aka “Mr. Whitt”), in 1996. Farrell was a kind soul who was not impressed with the material things in life: character was of the utmost importance to her. Her compassion to those with very little was profound and she regularly donated to a multitude of respected charities and foundations. Farrell was a lady in the truest sense and carried herself with respect, dignity and class. She was loved dearly by her boys and her infectious laugh and bright smile will be sorely missed.
When Farrell was not at home, you would most likely find her at the local VFW singing karaoke. She absolutely loved to sing and dance, and it brought much joy to her life to her friends and strangers alike. She managed several multi-family properties in Dallas where she was often seen giving candy to the resident children out of her car.
Farrell is survived by sons, Brian Whittington of Richardson, Texas, Chad Whittington and wife Kristen of Parker, Colorado, Greg Whittington of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Kylee and Reagan Whittington of Parker, Colorado, Charis and Jake Whittington of Richardson, Texas; brother, Tommy Overstreet of Idaho; sisters, Monica Berry and husband, Lonnie of Weslaco, Texas, Charlotte Allison and husband, Dennis, of Wichita, Kansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Tommy “Larry” Whittington.
Farrell will be missed immensely by all who knew and loved her, but it brings comfort to our hearts knowing that she is with her savior, Jesus Christ, and that she has finally been reunited with the love of her life.
