Evelyn “Tootsy” Rogers passed away on March 9, 2023 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 93. She was born on December 16, 1929 in Copeville, Texas to her mother Louise (Selman) Thomas and father Coleman Thomas.
Tootsy married Louis Rogers on April 12, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas. In this union were born three children.
Tootsy had a deep Christian faith.
Tootsy enjoyed weekly phone calls from her niece Joann. She believed strongly in keeping family and friendships close. Tootsy loved posing for family photos, as long as she could apply her lipstick first.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her quick wit.
Tootsy had a love for wild flowers, bluebonnets, word search puzzles, classic movies and country music
She is survived by her children: Mark Rogers of Farmersville, Texas, Bridget Rogers of Plano, Texas and Jeff Rogers of Greenville, Texas; grandchildren: Misty “Chè” Rogers, Mark “Blake” Rogers and his wife Michelle, Cheyenne Rogers, Shiloh Ivie, Joey Rogers and his wife Blair, Aleena Klander and her husband Nathan, and Peyton Rogers; great- grandchildren :Chelynn McKenzie Palmer, Cameron Rogers, Emery Rogers, Benson Klander and one on the way baby girl, Bentlee Klander, and honorary grandchildren:Emma Hill and Evelyn Krause; a host of devoted nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Louis Rogers, her parents, John and Louise Killian, Daughter in law, Christina Olson, brothers, Wylie Selman and Billy Thomas and one sister Virginia Patterson.
A visitation will be held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery at 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. The Graveside service will start at 2:00pm with Minister Tony Linton officiating.
