Evan passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the age of 18. He was born May 18, 2005, in Dallas, to Paul Robinson and Nancy Obels. Evan lived in Plano with his mother and older brother Liam.
Evan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Nicole Obels, his paternal grandparents, John and Jean Robinson, his aunt Julie Wyke, and his uncle Olivier Avril.
Evan had recently graduated from Plano West, class of 2023, and started as a freshman, class of 2027, at the University of North Texas to major in logistics and distribution with a minor in sports management. He enjoyed the Frisco Landing campus and his classes. He was fully engaged as proven by his initial grades.
Evan chose this path to be able to maintain and pursue his engagement, which started 4 years ago, first as a basketball scorekeeper, then as a referee for PSA where he was selected to train new referees and was promoted as a supervisor at the McKinney Recreation Center. He also worked for the North Texas Basketball Officials Association (NTBOA). Being local allowed him to balance his life between education and work. After working at HEB briefly, Evan moved on to find a wonderful crew at the Frisco Red Lobster where he was appreciated and recognized for his hard work, his caring attention to customers, and the quality of his service.
Evan was making future plans. He had received his MacBook Air that he was setting up, excited to use it for both college and work as he was creating PowerPoint presentations to train and form new referees. He was scheduled to play pickleball with his father, and pit ball with friends, was planning to see his girlfriend of two years Libby in a week and looking forward to his brother Liam returning from college for Thanksgiving.
Since he was a young child, Evan was appreciated by everyone for his cheerful sense of humor. He loved sports: soccer, football, and basketball in particular. Evan had a real talent for easily connecting with others. He was a good listener; he enjoyed meeting people. When in charge of a mission either in sports or for work, he always completed it with great care and sense of responsibility.
Evan leaves behind family, friends, a furry four-legged friend named Bogey, and so many more who loved him dearly, and whose hearts he touched in his life.
Please remember Evan for the bright light he shined and the fine tall young man he was compassionate, responsible, courteous, loving, and respectful to others.
