IN LOVING MEMORY

Evan Antonio Miravella

May 08 2008 - Jun 04 2019

Evan Antonio Miravella, age 11, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.  Evan was a sweet and loving boy.  He was born on May 8, 2008, in Plano, Texas, to Iliana Cantavella and Ricardo Mirabile.  Evan was a beloved student at SEM Middle School where he attained the President’s Achievement Award and completed the 5th grade.  On May 31, 2019, Evan was made an Honorary Firefighter by the Frisco Fire Department in recognition of his courage in his fight against cancer.

Evan was the most amazing child; he loved everyone he met and was never afraid to show it.  Those who met him couldn’t help but feel his love, as he hugged everyone he met and always had a smile on his face.  He loved playing video games with friends and family, but enjoyed playing outside with his friends even more.  Evan had many friends, but was always looking for those kids that needed a friend, so they wouldn’t be lonely.  Evan loved music and absolutely loved to dance.  He was a huge Pokemon fan and loved to play Minecraft.  And of course, he loved all things Marvel – especially Spiderman.  Evan was the most amazing little kid with the biggest heart.

In April 2018, while visiting his grandfather in Houston, Evan hit his head on the car door.   He was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Houston and this was the beginning of a one year battle for his life.  After three different wrong diagnoses, he was finally diagnosed with Leptomeningeal Melanoma.  He fought like no one else, never complaining of the pain, always had a sweet smile and a wonderful sense of humor.  Evan was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Evan is survived by his mother, Iliana Cantavella of Frisco, Texas; his father, Ricardo Mirabile of California; his siblings, Vincent Miravella and Victoria Miravella; his Grandfather (YaYo), Juan Cantavella of Houston, Texas; his Grandmother (YaYa), Hesther Hernandez of Frisco, Texas; his uncle, Juan Carlos Cantavella and his wife, Elizabeth, of Houston; his auntie, Alicia Cantavella of Houston; and his cousin, Alexander Cantavella of Houston.

The funeral service will be held at Suncreek United Methodist Church, 1517 McDermott, Allen, Texas, on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dr. Barry Hughes.
