Eva Dennis, age 95, of Little Elm, Texas passed away November 7, 2004 in Carrollton, Texas. Eva was born on July 5, 1905 to J.H. and Willie May (Norris) Conklin in Aubrey, Texas. She was married to Roscoe Dennis in Aubrey on July 10, 1924 and they celebrated 50 happy years together before his death in August, 1974. Eva and Roscoe moved to Little Elm in 1924 where Eva worked as a Riveter on Airplanes during WWII. After the war she worked at Sargents Grocery Store and later went on to own and operate her own business, Eva’s Grocery Store & Gas Station in Little Elm from 1954 until 1973. Miss Eva was named Little Elm’s Citizen of the Year in 1998. After she retired she joined a travel club and enjoyed many years of seeing the United States which she cherished. Eva is survived by her son, Jerry Conklin, Little Elm, Texas; brother J.L. Conklin, Dallas, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roscoe and her brothers and sisters. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 from 6:30-8:30 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75034. Funeral Services will be held at Little Elm Church of Christ at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 with Brother Ashley Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Little Elm Cemetery, Little Elm, Texas.
