IN LOVING MEMORY

Eugene Manton Clowe

Jul 10 1933 - May 18 2021

Eugene Manton Clowe, 87, of Plano, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in Plano, Texas.

Eugene “Gene” Manton Clowe was born July 10, 1933 in Corsicana, Texas to William Alfred and Rosalee (Jenkins) Clowe. He grew up in Corsicana and the family moved to Dallas, where he graduated Pleasant Grove High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for eight (8) years, where he was based in London, England.  He married the first love of his life, JoAnn Vinzetta on August 21, 1953. Joann went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 8, 2005. Although he was devastated beyond words, God blessed him with the second love of his life, Monda Marie Pope Weir, and they were married on August 5, 2008.

Gene served the Lord all his adult life, by selflessly ministering to others with his beautiful piano playing. He showed interest at the age of 3 after hearing his next-door neighbor play the piano. He began to play “by ear” and played the piano all his life. In recent years, he enjoyed sharing his love for music by playing at nursing homes, churches, and Three Forks Steakhouse. He was a friend to all who knew him, and specifically his best friend, Charles Bristow, who he bonded with in second grade. That bond lasted a lifetime and their friendship was like no other.

Gene is preceded in death by JoAnn Clowe (wife), William Alfred Clowe (father), Rosalee Clowe (mother), and William Alfred Clowe, Jr. (brother).

Gene is survived by his wife Monda Clowe of Arlington, TX; his children: Kevin Clowe of Amarillo, TX; Keith Clowe of Plano, TX; Carolyn Clowe Eaton of Sherman, TX; Steve Clowe (Stephanie) of Aspermont, TX, and Scott Weir (Leslie) of Cresson, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Danny Eaton (Whitney), Lindsie Clowe Garza (Jonathan), Crystal Eaton Mathews (Clay), Kelsie Clowe (Michele), Clayton Eaton (Ally), Clint Eaton (Jessica), Carissa Eaton Patterson (Brad), Courtnie Clowe Ellis (Cameron), Kyle Clowe (Tony), Will Clowe, Mackenzie Clowe and fiancé, Cole Binion, Andrew Clowe, Shelby Weir and fiancé, Tanner Leggett, and Tommy Weir. Gene was the proud great-grandfather of 15 precious great-grandchildren, with one more blessing on the way. Gene was also survived by Jerry Vinzetta (brother-in-law), and wife, Jayne, and he was proud to be called uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Gene was also blessed with bonus children in his life, Sherry Tompkins of Roswell, NM, Dan Eaton of Perry, TX, Paula Pope of Carrollton, TX, Jacki Albritton Shepherd of Plano, TX, and Laurie Murdock of Garland, TX. While his family mourns his loss, they rejoice in knowing Gene has received the ultimate healing.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gene’s life and legacy on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2242 West Lucas Rd, Allen TX. 75002, with Rev. Brad Patterson officiating.  Graveside services will follow in Plano Mutual Cemetery, 2128 18th Street, Plano TX. 75074. Arrangements are by Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow of Allen, Texas.

The family invites you to join us for a reception following the graveside service, at the Clowe family home, 5845 Wavertree Lane, Plano, TX. 75093.
