Eugene Foster Thurston, age 52, of Melissa, Texas passed away November 26, 2007 at his home. He was born July 19, 1955, in Beaumont, Texas to Henry and Dorothy Thurston. On September 4, 1993 he married Debra Lyon in Nederland, Texas. Eugene was an electrician by trade and worked for The IBEW. The last fourteen years he worked at Verizon Business as a telecommunications technician. He is survived by his wife, Debra Lyon Thurston of Melissa, Texas; son, Christopher Eugene Thurston; granddaughter, Kylee Renee Thurston and daughter, Melissa Kaye Thurston all of Lumberton, Texas; father and step-mother, Henry and Nelva Thurston of Vidor, Texas; sister, Glenda Beckett and her husband, James of White Oak, Texas; niece, Sharon Stevens and nephew, Jesse Johnson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Thurston and his brother, Bill Thurston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2007, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
